Passage: John 1:4-5
Duration: 26 mins 11 secs
In his Gospel, John records just a taste of what he and the disciples had witnessed, but it is enough for us to believe that Jesus is the promised Son of God. This belief gives life in Jesus' name. John doesn't start his Gospel with a baby or an angel, he starts with the significance of Jesus' coming. He is Life for all mankind. At the start of Acts, Jesus makes it clear that his word is not just for the Jews, but for all people everywhere. The light of Jesus shines in the darkest places we find ourselves, but the darkness cannot do anything to get rid of it!

Do you know that God really, really loves you? He invites you to rest from your work and enjoy His passionate love for you. He is eager to spend time with you, in a relationship not based on hard work, but on the joy of simply being together, as two people in love. As we have an intimate daily relationship with the risen Christ, we can experience His true rest even in the midst of the busyness and stress of life. The Word of God helps us to find Jesus our great High Priest and enter His throne room of grace, where we find new mercies every day. Rest from your work and let Jesus carry you!
