What We Believe
Whether you come from a Protestant, Catholic, Baptist, Pentecostal, Presbyterian, Conservative or other background, Lift is about standing firm on the majors (core Christian beliefs) and loving through the minors (denominational or personal preference of form). We pray and hope that your faith and trust in God and the Bible is strengthened and that the love of Jesus is clearly present at Lift. Lift focuses on standing strong together in our core values while loving and serving together, even with differing "cultural" backgrounds. The Bible is central to all that we teach and practice. We believe in the truths of the Bible: that the Word of God is inspired and without error; that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who came to earth in human form to die for our sins on the cross of Calvary; that he rose again on the third day and returned to heaven; and that God offers eternal life to all those who place their trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. Furthermore, we have attached the Apostles’ Creed that has been a common stance of Christian beliefs over the centuries. Perhaps Lift could more formally define specific doctrinal and denominational views, but we choose to demonstrate loving God and loving others as we use the Bible and the English language as common tools to share the Gospel message. Apostles' CreedThis basic creed, as most familiarly known, is called the Apostles’ Creed. It has received this title because of its great antiquity; it dates from very early times in the Church, a half century or so from the last writings of the New Testament. I believe in God, the Father Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: |
